How to restore previously default desktop icons on Windows 11
These icons were previously the default icons on old Windows systems, as previously stated. They’ve since been taken down, but you can get them back with a few clicks down below.
The majority of the settings app in Windows 11 is centralized. The System Settings pane allows you to do everything from changing system settings to adding new users and updating Windows.
Use the Windows key + I shortcut or go to Start > Settings to get to System Settings. Alternatively, you can use the taskbar’s search box to look for Settings. After that, choose to open it.
The image below shows how the Windows Settings pane should look. Click Personalization in Windows Settings, then Themes in the right pane of your screen, as shown in the image below.

Click Desktop icon settings in the Themes settings pane, under Related settings.

On the desktop, you can choose to display the Computer, User’s Files, Network, Recycle Bin, and Control Panel.

The icons you’ve chosen should appear on your desktop. These are helpful icons that should allow users to quickly access important settings.
