Do you want to change the color of Windows 11’s Start menu? Here’s how to go about it. The Start menu and Taskbar have been updated in Windows 11. Microsoft now allows you to change the background of the Start menu as well. That means you can change the color of your Start Menu in Windows 11 to whatever you want.
The Start menu is usually black or white in color. However, on the Start menu, you can now use any color you want. Changing the color of the Start menu in Windows 11 will, however, also change the color of the Taskbar. Because, for the time being, the setting is linked to both the Start menu and the Taskbar.
How to Change the Start menu color in Windows 11?
Before changing the color of the Start menu in Windows 11, make sure your copy of Windows is activated, as Microsoft won’t let you personalize your PC if it’s not turned on. You can check whether Windows 11 is activated or not.
- Press the Windows + I keys on the keyboard to launch the Settings app.
- In the Windows Settings, go to the Personalization category on the left sidebar.
- In the Personalization right-hand pane, select the Colors tab.
- On the right-hand side pane, scroll down to the bottom and turn the toggle next to Show accent color on Start and taskbar to On.
- The ascent color you chose will now be applied to the Start menu and taskbar. Scroll up to the “Ascent color” option to change the color. Select Manual from the “Ascent color” option’s drop-down menu. After that, choose any color you want to use.
- If any of the built-in palette colors don’t appeal to you, scroll down and click the View Colors button next to the “Custom colors” option.
- Click the Done button after selecting the color of your choice.
- The Settings app can now be safely closed.
There is no need to restart your Windows 11 computer because the changes are immediate. Your custom color will now appear in Windows 11’s Start menu and taskbar.
How to Automatically Set the Color of Start menu and Taskbar on Windows 11?
If you can’t decide which color you want or the one you have doesn’t meet your needs, you can have Windows 11 choose a color for you automatically based on your wallpaper. By selecting a dominant color from your wallpaper, Windows 11 will automatically use the accent color. This option is useful for those who use Windows 11’s Wallpaper Slideshow. To do so, go through the steps below:-
- Press the Windows + I keys on the keyboard to launch the Settings app.
Scroll up to the “Ascent color” option to set the automatic color. Select the Automatic option from the “Ascent color” drop-down menu.
That’s it. Because no further action is required, you can safely close the Settings app.
