One or more wallpapers, as well as an accent color, may be included in a theme pack. It may also include sound schemes and icons in addition to the wallpaper(s).
Windows 11 comes pre-installed with six stunning themes: Windows (light), Windows (dark), Glow, Captured Motion, Sunrise, and Flow. The light and dark Windows themes each have only one wallpaper, whereas the other themes each have four. The default theme in Windows 11 computers is the Windows (light) theme. The Windows (dark) theme is applied when dark mode is enabled.
While the default theme has nothing wrong with it, some computer users may dislike it and want to change it. The default theme in Windows 11 can be easily changed. From the Settings app, you can easily select one of the available themes. You can download and install new themes from the Microsoft Store or any other third-party website if you don’t like any of the six themes that come with Windows 11.

How to Change Windows 11 theme via Settings app?
Windows 11 allows you to change the theme from two different locations using the Settings app.
First Method
- To access the Settings > Personalization page, right-click on a blank area on the desktop and select Personalize.
- Select Themes from the right-hand pane.
- You’ll find all of the default themes that come with Windows 11 as well as those that you downloaded from the Microsoft Store here. To use a theme, select it from the drop-down menu.
The changes are instantaneous, which means that once you select a theme, it will be applied right away.
Second Method
- To access the Settings > Personalization page, right-click on a blank area on the desktop and select Personalize.
- In the Personalization right-hand pane, select any theme you’d like to use. Please note that you can only see the six most recent themes you’ve used recently in this section.

How to Change Windows 11 theme through Control Panel?
If you prefer the old Control Panel, you can change the theme on Windows 11 using this method. The classic Personalization window, on the other hand, is no longer included in the Control Panel. However, the Personalization panel can be used to access it and change the theme.
- To open the Run dialog box, press the Windows + R hotkey.
- Paste the following shell command into the Run box and press the Enter key on the keyboard to open the classic Personalization panel:-

- You can see all of the themes that are installed on your computer here. Select a theme to use by clicking on it. That’s it.
How to Download and Install Themes on Windows 11 from Microsoft Store?
If you don’t like the default themes in Windows 11, you can download a variety of free themes from the Microsoft Store. On the taskbar, click the Microsoft Store icon. Look for Windows Themes on the Store page. To use a theme, simply click on it. Then press the Get button. Now press the Install button. Last but not least, press the Apply button.
