When using Windows 11, we’ll learn how to stop receiving insider preview builds and switch to stable builds in this post. Users can sign up for the Windows Insider Program on their devices to receive and test new features before they’re released to the general public.
There are three channels to choose from: Dev, Beta, and Release Preview. You can switch between channels once your system is enrolled in one to receive updates in that channel.
Simply unroll your machine to exit the Insider program and begin receiving a stable build when Windows is fully released. The steps below will show you how to do so.
The release date for Windows 11 is set for October 5, 2021. If you want to upgrade to the stable build of Windows 11 when it’s released, you’ll need to unenroll your device from the Insider program so that you can get the next major stable release automatically. If you stay in the Insider program after the stable release, your device may not be able to upgrade to the stable builds until the next major release of Windows 11.
Follow the steps below to begin switching from the Insider program to stable Windows builds.
How to switch from insider to stable builds on Windows 11
If you’re currently enrolled in the Windows Insider program and want to upgrade to the stable build when it becomes available, you’ll need to unenroll. After that, once Windows 11 is released, your device will start receiving stable updates.
The majority of Windows 11’s settings can be found in one place. Everything can be done from the System Settings pane, including system configurations, new user creation, and Windows updates.
Use the Windows key + I shortcut or go to Start > Settings to get to System Settings. Alternatively, you can use the taskbar’s search box to look for Settings. After that, choose to open it.
The image below shows how the Windows Settings pane should look. Click Windows Updates in Windows Settings, and then select Windows Insider Program in the right pane of your screen, as shown below.
Expand the tile for Stop getting preview builds in the Insider Program settings pane, then toggle the button to the On position to unenroll your device from the program.
Close Windows Settings after that. Your PC will exit the Insider program and switch to a regular stable build the next time Microsoft releases a major, stable update for Windows 11.
