Do you see the on-screen keyboard when using a Windows 10 PC? Does it appear randomly or when you are using a specific application? These problems will determine the solution that will help you get rid of the virtual keyboard completely.
Not only are users who use touchscreen laptops, but they also encounter this error. Others reported seeing notifications from the onscreen keyboard on their system tray or on their Windows lock screen. There are several ways to solve this annoying feature.
Let’s get started.
1. REMOVE FROM SYSTEM TRAY
Did you notice the on-screen keyboard icon in the system tray area? Right-click anywhere on the system tray and deselect the option to show touch keyboard buttons.

This will disable and hide the on-screen keyboard and protect you from accidentally clicking to activate it.
2. EASE OF ACCESS CENTER
Microsoft bass offers to use Windows 10 computers for different people. Some of these forms are available at ease of access. One of these features is the keyboard option on the screen.
Step 1: Open the Start and Look menu for “ease of access to the keyboard settings” and open it.

Step 2: Deactivate the “Use on-screen keyboard” option and restart your computer if necessary.

When using the computer in the same scenario, please check if you are still facing the on-screen keyboard.

3. ON-SCREEN KEYBOARD SETTINGS
Do not close the computer’s on-screen keyboard next time it appears.
Step 1: Click on the Options button.

Step 2: In blue ink, click to control whether the on-screen keyboard is activated when I log in.

Step 3: Uncheck the “Use on-screen keyboard” option and save everything.

4. TOUCH KEYBOARD SERVICE
Only try these steps if the above solutions don’t work for you. This will disable all touch-related applications on the computer. Use it accordingly. The good news is that you can follow the same steps to reverse the effect.
Step 1: Find and open “Services” from the “Start” menu.

Step 2: Double-click Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Services, then select Disabled next to Startup Type on the General tab.

Step 3: Save changes and check again.

5. RECENTLY INSTALLED APP
Have you recently installed an application like AirDisplay? This may be why you suddenly see the on-screen keyboard here and there. One way to wake up the memory is to open the Control Panel and look for the uninstaller.

You can sort apps based on name or date here.

Check if an application is responsible for the behavior. If so, please adjust the settings to stop the application or uninstall the application and look for an alternative.
For users who display the on-screen keyboard when the login screen starts, disable the startup task. There is no need to uninstall the application.

You can also open Task Manager and check (press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open) to see if there are applications running that shouldn’t be running. All running applications are listed on the “Process” tab.
If you are sure that it is an application responsible for on-screen keyboard pop-ups but cannot find it, try restarting Windows 10 cleanly.

6. REMOTE DESKTOP APP
The RDP or remote desktop application can activate the application of the on-screen keyboard. Check if this browser application or extension is active. Some popular examples are the Chrome equipment viewer and remote desktop.
7. REGISTRY HACK
Step 1: Search for and open the Registry Editor from the Start menu.

Step 2: Drill down to the folder structure below.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI
Step 3: Find ShowTabletKeyboard file on the right, double-click to open it, and input the Hexadecimal Value data as 0 (zero). Save everything and reboot if asked.

8. USE RESTORE POINT
Windows 10 has a feature called restore points, which can make regular backups of your computer. It is usually backed up when the system thinks everything is normal.
If you do not see the on-screen keyboard pop-up error, please check the date of the last restore point and restore it. Except for recently installed applications that can be reinstalled at any time, you will not lose any data. This process is safe, but irreversible.
EVERYBODY ON BOARD
What I want to confuse users is that the on-screen keyboard usually stays on top of every open window. The on-screen keyboard option is a feature that is used by some people. It exists for a reason, if you hate it it won’t go away. Hope one of the solutions above is useful to you.
