
Fix Adobe software is not genuine
Adobe relies on product keys and online accounts to ensure that their software is being utilized, but it also maintains an underlying service to validate the account and product key’s legitimacy. When you install an Adobe software, this service is activated, and it is critical in preventing you from being locked out of the programs you’ve purchased.
If you’re getting the notice “Adobe software is not real,” and you’ve legally purchased a product key or a subscription to the service/apps, try the fixes below.
Note that these workarounds do not get you free access to Adobe goods, and this is not an instruction on how to hack or patch the software.

Genuine product key
Adobe dropped the one-time purchase option for its apps when it converted to a subscription model. While the earlier version was still available, many users who were able to purchased a license for it.
It won’t work if you bought an Adobe product key from a third-party vendor. Unless the vendor never, ever used the product key to activate the Adobe app on their own PC, the software will be reported as pirated in most situations. That’s how product keys work in general; they’re attached to a certain machine and can’t be moved to another.
The Adobe Authentic Software service sends the notification “Adobe software is not genuine.” It’s the underlying service that determines whether or not your program was lawfully purchased. You can turn it off to get rid of the message.

Method 1
- Open Task Manager.
- Go to the Processes tab.
- Right-click the Adobe Genuine Integrity service and select Open File Location (if you do not see the service, make sure an Adobe app is open).
- Right-click the Adobe Genuine Integrity service in Task Manager and select End Task.
- In the folder that opened, delete the AdobeGCIClient folder
Method 2
- Open Command Prompt with admin rights.
- Run this command:
sc delete AGSService
Uninstall Adobe startup utility
When you install an Adobe product, it installs a number of programs, including the Adobe startup utility. The notification that removing it will remove the Adobe program is not genuine.
- Open Command Prompt with admin rights.
- Run this command:
sc delete AAMUpdater
- Next, open Task Scheduler.
- Find the task named AdobeAAMUpdater.
- Right-click the task and select Delete (you may need to authenticate with the admin user).
Conclusion
Adobe’s apps may be unable to update as a result of the services and utilities you uninstall. When you update the apps, they may also reinstall. It’s worth noting that updating the apps could resolve the issue. Uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe applications may also help.
