Sometimes simple things are best. Take a small program named Notepad on a Windows PC as an example. It has been a part of Microsoft Windows computers for more than two decades. Unfortunately, the future of Notepad looks unpredictable. We say this because many Windows 10 users report that their PC lacks Notepad or Notepad is Missing.
If you can’t find Notepad on your Windows computer, here’s how to fix Notepad is Missing in Windows 10.
Notepad has its halo. Although it is a simple application, it is different from other applications like MS Word, WordPad, and even Microsoft OneNote and is excellent. It’s one of the best uses for removing formatting from text. Users who have worked with Windows computers for many years will feel the emptiness of Notepad.
Fortunately, it is easy to bring Notepad back and activate it on your Windows 10 computer. Let’s see how to solve the Notepad is Missing problem.
WHAT HAPPENED TO NOTEPAD IN WINDOWS 10
Microsoft played with notepad for a long time now. Previously, it was transferred to Microsoft Store, but the decision was revoked later. Now, the notebook will be available again via Microsoft Store.
Another development that took place is that Microsoft has made a notebook an optional function along with the paint. This is why you miss notes in Windows 10. Therefore, if you buy a new Windows 10 computer or install the last Windows 10 Build 2004 and later, the notepad can disappear from your Windows PC. You will need to install it by yourself, as shown below.
Tip: The advantage of creating applications such as optional notepad is that you can easily uninstall them if they don’t want to use it.

If you can’t find Notepad under the added function. Then back, you will find Notepad under “Installed Features” on the “Optional Features” screen.
Search for the notebook. Click on it and press the Uninstall button. Once uninstalled, restart the PC and install it again, as shown above or using the following method.
PRO TIP: Use the same method to install other older apps such as Windows media player, MS Paint, etc.
Method 2: Install Notepad From Microsoft Store

Click the link above, and then click the “Get” button to start the download process. After installation, you should see Notepad in the Start menu.
HOW TO PUT NOTEPAD ON DESKTOP IN WINDOWS
After successfully installing Notepad, you can put it on the desktop, add a shortcut to the Start menu, or pin it to the system tray for faster access. To do this, search for Notepad in Windows Search. Then right-click the notepad icon and select the appropriate option from Pin to Start or Pin to System Tray.
Or click to open the file location. The file explorer window will open. Right-click the notepad and choose Send To> Desktop (create shortcut).
DON’T GO, NOTEPAD
Of course, Windows has several other alternatives, such as Microsoft OneNote, MS Word and sticky notes to score notes quickly or even to write a complete document. But the notebook is the notebook. It has a separate fan base and I am one of them. I hope Microsoft does not completely kill the notes. It would be a disaster.
