As the default cloud storage application on Android, Google Drive is the most popular cloud service for consumers. Although there are many Google Drive sharing features in the Google Photos app, there are still some people who prefer to use Google Drive to send photos and videos. GOOGLE DRIVE MOBILE APPS
First, we will discuss how to Share Photos and Videos on Google Drive using a mobile application. Since Android and iOS share the same Google Drive user interface, you can use the steps on either platform to get the job done.
Upload Photos and Videos to Google Drive
Before you start sharing files, you must first upload photos and videos to the corresponding folders in the Google Drive app.
In the following example, we are using the Google Drive iOS application.
Step 1: Open the Google Drive app on the iPhone.
Step 2: Tap on the + icon at the bottom and select Folder.
Step 3: Give it a relevant name and tap on the Create button.
Step 4: To customize, you can click the three-dot menu next to the folder name and change the folder color from standard gray to any color (24 colors are available).
Step 5: Open the newly created folder and click the + icon and select upload.
Step 6: Select photos and videos, grant corresponding permissions to access all media files on the phone, and open the photo library menu.
Step 7: Select the photos and videos to be shared, and click the upload button above.
Step 8: Depending on your internet speed, Google Drive will upload the uncompressed media in its original format.
Alternatively, you can open the photo app directly on your iPhone or Android. Select the photos and videos you want to send, then use the share menu to upload them to the destination folder of Google Drive.
Once the media files are uploaded to the Google Drive folder, they can be shared with friends and family.
Share Google Drive Folder
There are two ways to share the Google Drive folder. You can generate a shared connection or add directly to members. Here, how to share the Google Drive folder.
Step 1: Open the Google Drive app and go to the folder.
Step 2: Tap on the three-dot menu and select Share.
Step 3: Add another user’s Google account ID to join the folder and make changes. Or, you can choose to copy the link and share the invitation link of the folder directly through any social media channels.
You can enter the “Managers and Links” option at any time and delete people from it or change the link settings from “Only everyone with the link”.

With the restricted option, only the added person can access and view the media files in the folder. The “Anyone with the link” option turns on three additional permissions.
Viewer: Others with the link can only view the contents of the folder.
Commentator: Users who have a driver link can comment on their feedback.
Editor: This allows anyone with the link to make changes to the content. You can download, edit and even delete photos and videos from the folder. Be careful when using editor permissions.

It all depends on your use case. If you want to use Google Drive on the web to share photos and videos with the wider community, anyone with a link option is for you.

People who want to share photos and videos with specific groups of people should stick to the “restricted” option.
GOOGLE DRIVE WEB
You can also use Google Drive web to share photos and videos. It will come in handy for those who save photos and videos on the PC.
Step 1: Go to Google Drive on the web and log in with your Google account credentials.
Step 2: Click the New button on the left to create a new folder for sharing.

Step 3: Give it a relevant name, change folder color, and you are all set to upload photos and videos to it.

Step 4: Navigate to the media file stored on the computer. Select these photos and drag them to the Google Drive folder on the web.
Step 5: After uploading to the folder, you can return to the Google Drive homepage.
Step 6: Select the folder to be shared, and then click the “Generate” or “Share” link above.

The sharing options are similar to the options we discussed for the Google Drive mobile app.
