How to Switch Power Mode in Windows 11

November 16, 2021

In this article, we’ll learn how to change or switch the power mode in Windows 11 in order to optimize the device’s power consumption and performance. Windows 11 uses a balanced power mode by default to optimize performance while consuming less power.

Windows also allows users to change or select a different power mode that best suits their needs, as well as enable device settings to maximize battery life, performance, or a balance of the two.

You can choose different power modes depending on whether you’re using AC or battery (DC) power. When your device switches from AC to battery or DC, it will choose the power mode automatically.

Many new features and a new user desktop are included in Windows 11, including a centered Start menu and taskbar, rounded corner windows, themes, and colors that make any computer look and feel modern. Follow the steps below to get started with Windows 11’s power mode selection.

As previously stated, users can select the power mode that best suits their needs. This is how you do it.

The majority of the settings app in Windows 11 is centralized. The System Settings pane allows you to do everything from changing system settings to adding new users and updating Windows.

Use the Windows key + I shortcut or go to Start > Settings to get to System Settings.

Alternatively, you can use the taskbar’s search box to look for Settings. After that, choose to open it.

The image below shows how the Windows Settings pane should look. Select Power & battery on the right pane of your screen in Windows Settings, as shown in the image below.
