It’s a challenging game with a lengthy learning curve. The feeling of accomplishment that comes with such punishment is unrivaled in gaming. Even the tiniest step forward in progress feels like a victory.
Aside from the stunning next-gen graphics and smooth 60fps frame rate that showcase the PS5’s capabilities, Demon’s Souls offers a diverse range of environments to explore, keeping the game feeling fresh. It’s refreshing to visit the relatively bright and stormy seaside after hours of trudging through what can charitably be described as an infected sewer. Swapping between the five available regions also allows you to take a break from that one boss who keeps killing you, even if it’s just to die ignobly to a random skeleton you missed hiding in an alcove.
Demon’s Souls is not only a worthy remake of the original classic that started it all, but this PS5 exclusive is perhaps the pinnacle of the franchise, with its unique brand of multiplayer common among Souls games. It’s a wild ride, and you should expect to die at some point.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure (Check latest price on Amazon) is a spin-off from the Little Big Planet universe, a Playstation-exclusive series of games centered on crafted characters and worlds. These games typically come with a plethora of tools for creating levels and minigames. This spin-off, on the other hand, lacks the same tools, focusing instead on a platforming adventure to save Craftworld. As you complete level after level of colorful and exciting challenges, this targeted approach makes for an accessible and entertaining ride. Better yet, you can play couch co-op with a friend.
The story is adorable and lighthearted, and it keeps you engaged throughout the game. The level designs are well-done, with each level providing a good amount of variety and rarely feeling repetitive. The stages have lovely visuals and make you feel good while you’re playing them. To a fun soundtrack that includes some fun takes on popular songs, you’ll hop, dash, and explore. While the controls can be a little sloppy at times, resulting in a few unfortunate failures, they aren’t so bad as to cause a lot of frustration. Sack Boy: A Big Adventure is best described as a good time and a game that makes you smile while you’re playing, especially if you’re playing with someone else.

Cyberpunk 2077 (Check latest price on Amazon) is a massive open-world game set in a dystopian cityscape and rendered in incredible detail. It does, however, have a number of flaws, including game-breaking bugs, missing features, and high hardware requirements. It also contains mature themes and content, and it is not for everyone due to its extremely dark setting.
This is a first-person shooter with hundreds of weapons to choose from and a wide variety of unique cars to collect. You can also fine-tune everything from your character’s skills, abilities, and cybernetic implants to their weapons and clothing using the game’s extensive customization system. Even though the combat and navigation are flawed, and the game’s promised AI is almost non-existent, driving and fighting your way through Night City is still entertaining.
