They won’t tell you that you have done it, but they will wonder why you never call or text them. What Actually Happens When You Block Someone on Your iPhone.
Have you ever wondered what happens when you Block Someone on Your iPhone? What will actually happen?
You can block contacts through messaging, FaceTime and phone applications. Blocking contacts in the app will block them all. However, blocking does not prevent someone from trying to contact you. They won’t get the nice “your number has been blocked” notification from Siri, but they may start to wonder why you aren’t replying to their messages.

How to block contacts via Messages on iPhone
To block a number from a message, open the conversation, touch the contact’s name, number, or image at the top of the screen, and press the message icon “i”. Touch the name or number again, then scroll down to the bottom of the contacts screen to “block this call.”
When a blocked number tries to text you, it will not connect. If they are on iOS, they may not even see the “sent” notes in your messaging app, although they may see your chat bubble change from blue (iMessage) to green (SMS). In the end you can see nothing.
Messages also has an option to filter text from senders who are not in your contact list. You will still receive messages, but they will be sent to a separate “unknown sender” inbox. You will also not see these text notifications.
If this feature is enabled, the “Unknown senders” tab will be displayed next to the “Contacts and SMS” tab under “Messages”. (Settings > Messages > Filter Unknown Senders).
How to block contacts from calls and FaceTime
To block a number on a phone or FaceTime, click the “i” message icon next to the number or contact and then click “Block this caller” on the contacts screen.
You can manage blocked contacts in “Settings”> “Phone” (or “Messages” or “FaceTime”) on your iPhone. Unblock the number at any time to resume receiving messages, calls, and notifications.
Calls from blocked contacts go directly to voicemail. Finally, if you leave a message (located at the bottom of the voicemail message list), you will see a special “blocked messages” folder in your voicemail inbox. However, you will not receive any notification of your call.
