I often forget to charge my Apple Watch at night, and waste time charging it in the morning. Ideally, I should have started exercising. If you’re in a similar situation, you can enable Apple Watch’s power saving mode to earn more miles during running and walking exercises.
Enabling power saving mode will disable the heart rate sensor on the Apple Watch, which means that the data on active calories and total calories burned will be less accurate. My regular 15-minute walking exercise usually shows 50 calories of active calories and 70 calories of total burn. When the energy saving mode is enabled, it shows the active calories of 30 calories and the total burned amount of 50 calories. Since GPS is enabled, all other data points (pace, altitude, route map, etc.) are accurate.
